As followers know, it was tricky to have the E61 to work as a BlueTooth modem.
Even using Ross Barkman‘s 3g scripts, the connectivity had to be achieved tricking the Os X wizard, selecting “dial a specific access number for your internet service provider”.
We were used to select “use a direct, higher speed connection…”.
Well, it looks like update 2.0618.06.05 from 14th of july 2006 fixes this behavior.
download and update
I’ve just installed it and it works, fine.
Just remember to backup any sensitive data. I even removed the miniSD card.
You’ll LOOSE EVERYTHING on the phone
p.s.: still no Stun server support for SIP telephony behind NAT (at least I can’t find it).

today I bumped into an article on LifeHacker about “not loosing your business domain”.
It happened to me with one of my domains couple years ago. I’ve had it for 3 years… it was so sad when I forgot to renew it (damn namebay not sending communication emails) and someone registered it.
I tried to renew it the year after but it was automatically renewed…
Patience is key…
got it back today!
a quick whois query returned no entry, and I registered it.
it worked.

I know… I never mind my own business, but I like to try things.
I dragged my newly bought ipod game to stuffit expander and this came out

the executables folder contains a bin file and another file.
reverse engineer anyone?
joking… let’s see if mother apple will give us opportunity to create games/apps.
oh… forgot…
tried to run the app in java and j2me emulators, no luck.

I couldn’t resist buying an iPod game this morning for 2 reasons:
- curiosity
- curiosity
yeah… it wasn’t much more than that.
I’m still quite pissed off by not being able to develop my own ones.
When will we be able to do it?
The game (bejeweled) plays smooth and it’s a really good implementation.
It uses some really nice transitions between levels (our beloved tunnel from the demo days).
nice to play….
interface implementation not that bad, but a bit quirky, considering that you use the “touch” feature of the click-wheel.
sometimes faulty, but I think it’s good.
try it yourself.
works on 5g iPods (video) only.

sometimes corporations take actions which I can’t explain.
I went to download a video off Google (thank you for letting us), but got kinda bothered by the fact that if I download it as a windows/mac video, I get a .gvi file on my hard drive.
What’s the first thing you do when you have an “unknown” file type?
The answer is simple: if it’s media, drag it into VLC.
Guess what… It worked.
file info: divx with mpeg audio.
wait for the file to be downloaded, locate it on your drive (in the Movies folder on my mac), rename it to .avi and you’re not tied to the player anymore.
cheers, ubi

I simply use safari (on mac, of course).
load the page
show activity viewer
double-click the streaming file (it’ll be the file which keeps on loading)
this file will then download through the download manager
rename the file get_video to whatever you want .flv
then it’s up to you to find an flv player
