Jan 07A decent skype client for e61
I was in the process of making some changes to the configuration of our browser for the Flagship Store in Helsinki, when I lost my path going through the S60.com applications wishlist.
Here people ask for a certain application to suit their needs, and developers, hinters and bloggers reply with their suggestions or state of development etc.
While scrolling through them, I saw “skype for S60″ with two replies.
Could I ever resist clicking?
This brought me to discover there’s actually 2 options to use Skype on your lovely e61.
I’ve tried iSkoot (quite impressive, I must say, as it worked out of the box), and leave you the task to test the other one.
iSkoot and Fring for S60 (no idea if Fring is compatible with e61, but iSkoot is for sure)

Fring works for me on my UK E61.
I highly recommend it.
I posted this at http://www.e-series.org about my experiences trying to get Skype and/or Voip working:

I see you are in Amsterdam. I have been over a few times and was pleasantly surprised at the number of WiFi points (both free and pay) and schemes to allow people a connection about in the city, and I think using Fring in such an environment would be great. The market has been pretty much cornered in the UK by companies charging for a wireless connection (like BT and Vodaphone) and 3G and GPRS rates are still high so using either over normal mobile call rates is still unfortunately not favorable. Let’s hope that changes :)
Nice site with a lot of top information, thanks.
